Chicago Police Department Internships
Any Chicago-land sophomore student interested in careers with the Chicago Police and Fire Departments can apply now for the Chicago Police and Fire Fighter Training Academy (CPFTA). The program is a joint partnership between the Chicago Police Department, Chicago Fire Department, Chicago Public Schools and the City Colleges of Chicago .

Interested students can go to http://www.cpfta.com for further information. Students can apply on-line if they meet the requirements. Students do not have to be CPS students to apply, the student just must be of current sophomore status in their school and live in Chicago . There is also a hotline number for information about CPFTA (773-553-2486).

The application process is currently open until April 26, 2010. This is a after-school program  that meet at the Chicago police and fire academies on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM . The program follows the CPS school calendar for attendance days.

This is a great program for high school students interested in careers in public safety.
